DAVID SAUL LEE
David Saul Lee started his professional career in Sacramento, California as a sophomore in high school with the help of his mentors and teachers. He is a self taught pianist who became a well-known performer and teacher in the area playing for the Sacramento Opera Company and Sacramento Children’s Chorus by the age of 22. Acknowledged as a multi-instrumentalist, David is most noted for his versatility in music. He has performed solo/chamber music on trumpet, flute, saxophone, cello, baritone and percussion. He has competed in national competitions in classical and contemporary music both as a pianist and vocalist. As a singer, David identifies as a gospel, jazz and r&b artist. He has shared the stage with Holly Stell, Jacob Snyder, LaShun Pace, Avalon, Anthony Evans, Crystal Lewis, Ms. Kathleen Battle and, most recently, Arcade Fire.
David is currently the artistic director of Selah Gospel Choir of Pasadena, CA. SGC has performed at Coachella, Jimmy Kimmel Live, RuPaul's Drag Con & Walt Disney Concert Hall. He is also the director of music at First Christian Church in Torrance, CA where he leads worship every Sunday morning. He works as the piano accompanist to the Beverly Hills High School Vocal Music Program and accompanies other schools and organizations in the area as well. David has performed with The Inner-City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, The Southeast Symphony (as both a pianist and featured vocalist), The Albert McNeil Jubilee Singers, The Los Angeles Jewish Symphony, and The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.
